If you are someone who wants to learn more about movies and the filmmaking process on a deeper level, or someone interested in developing a screenplay, or perhaps someone who has a blog or podcast dedicated to film criticism, there’s a lot to bite into in this course. We will explore a surface level discussion of all the facets of movie making, and will attempt to visit the many phases of the process, from the writing and development phase through to the final cut you see in theaters or at home. Weekly discussions will be supplemented by clips and specific titles to watch between sessions. Please be aware that we will likely be viewing multiple genres and ratings. When registering for the course, kindly indicate all of the streaming services you subscribe to (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV+, Criterion, etc.), as this will be valuable in establishing a viewing standard for the course.
