Course Code: HEGR-wi24 Categories: , , Tags: ,

Do you want to learn about Greek and Roman myths, and discover those which shed light on human nature and personally speak to you?  Together we will explore famous and not-so-famous myths as retold by the Roman poet Ovid in a lyrical and evocative translation of his classic, Metamorphoses. Online meetings will include mini-lecture, discussion, reading, myth-inspired art and poetry, and video clips. Be prepared to read about 50 pages per week. By the first class, students should purchase an edition of Metamorphoses translated by Mandelbaum, Lombardo, or Humphries.
