Description

Make either an 8 inch circular bowl or 8 inch plate. You will use clear glass rods to create the optical illusion of straight lines being curved. Start with an 8 inch square or circle of clear reed glass, which have channels in them. Create a design with glass stringers (like glass angel hair) to go in the channels. You will break the stringers to fit into the length of the channels. You will also break the glass rods to fit on top of your base. These will be fused together in the instructor’s own kiln, and then fired again to slump them into a bowl or plate shape. The pieces will be ready for pick up after approximately 2 weeks. This class is for ages 16 and up and has a materials fee of $85 payable to the teacher upon arrival.
