Description
This course is designed for heritage Chinese students who have completed Level 2 or demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Mandarin reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Building upon the skills developed in previous levels, students will read longer and more complex texts, learn advanced vocabulary and grammar structures, and strengthen their ability to write coherent paragraphs and short essays. Using the Heritage Chinese Level 3 (MLP-3) textbook and practice book, the course emphasizes reading comprehension, character writing with correct structure and stroke order, and deeper engagement with Chinese idioms, culture, and classical expressions. Students will also participate in discussions, storytelling, and structured writing exercises to reinforce language skills in a meaningful context.
Prerequisite: Completion of Heritage Chinese Level 2 or equivalent proficiency in reading,
writing, listening, and speaking Mandarin.
Next Level: Students who complete this class will be prepared for Heritage Chinese Level 4.
