Description

The Pysanky Club was created to provide a space for individuals passionate about practicing the art of writing pysanky throughout the year, as for those who want to create their first pysanka. At these meetings, we explore the various elements of pysanky, traditional ornaments, and symbols.

We will be gathering at the Lexington Community Education every first Wednesday of the month for a delightful session of pysanky creation.

You do not need any prior experience to participate in the club, all the necessary materials are provided. However, please feel free to bring your own “kistka” and other tools if you prefer.

Throughout the classes, you will be guided step by step through the essential points of the pysanky making process. By the end of each class, you will have created your very own Pysanka to take home.

There will be a different theme for each session.

  • October 4: “Berehynia” (the protector).
  • November 1: “Tree of Life, World Tree”.
  • December 6: “Pysanky Ornament with Symbols of an Evergreen Tree (pine, needle)”.

A $15 material fee is payable to the instructor per class.
