This course will focus on Venezuelan cuisine and are designed for participants to practice their Spanish conversation skills while learning to prepare delicious gluten-free dishes and about Venezuelan culture. In Class # 1, participants will learn to make Venezuelan arepas and empanadas, while Class #2 will focus on bollos pelones filled with beef or chicken, cooked in a tomato sauce. We’ll allow time for participants to cook and taste their dishes on-site, or they can choose to take them home to share with loved ones. 

Emilia Montero is a dedicated culinary enthusiast and educator hailing from Venezuela. With a solid foundation in Chemistry and Biology education, she spent numerous years as a teacher and then school director. However, her passion for the culinary arts have always been an integral part of her life. She finds joy in experimenting with new recipes and discovering healthier cooking methods.
