We will spend our mornings building models of 3D boats! Frame and brace your boat structures; add sides, bows, oars, masts, and sails. Listen to Viking myths as you make Viking longboats. Create authentic 18th century pirate ships with cannons, captain’s decks, masts, and sails. In the afternoons, build a replica of the Eiffel Tower, an instantly recognized and beloved structure. Here, too, we will use craft sticks, safe “Super Cool” (ultra-low temp) glue and glue guns. This will need to be a group project and we will need a step ladder to assemble it outside.

John Chamberlain is an eighth grade English teacher at Clarke Middle School.
