Description
Learn how to appreciate, analyze and interpret theme, character, story structure and narrative technique through the medium of film. We will explore the artistry of sound, cameras, costumes, set making, stunts, and the special effects that help filmmakers tell stories. You will participate in writing, directing, acting and camera work to create your very own movie. Beginning with the theme for the week we’ll create our story, develop characters, design sets, and even work on costumes and make-up. Then we’ll get a crash course in camera work and filming techniques using digital video equipment. We’ll spend the week putting all the skills together and making our movie. All participants will spend time in front of (only if they would like) and behind the camera, with the opportunity to focus on the parts of movie-making they enjoy the most. At the end of each week, we will have made our movie!
