Are you inspired by Hannah Herbst or Rifath Sharook? Would you like to learn how to invent a new tech product using programmable LEDs? This week we will brainstorm, design, and prototype a completely new product. Next we will develop a concept video to demonstrate how to use our new product. Using the programmable controller, Arduino, and programmable LEDs and sensors, we will make a functioning prototype. The tech world is waiting to hear your ideas! Please note that the purchase of the Arduino student kit is optional. The instructor will, using screen share, provide students the opportunity to collectively work on programming the hardware of her Arduino set up. In this instance students will keep their prototype project but not the hardware. Margarita Dekoli is a software engineer with an extensive background in developing tools for learning. She has a Master’s degree from the MIT Media Lab where she worked on the development of the Scratch programming environment.
