In this virtual course we will make several fun, cool, messy, and beautiful science experiments. Each day, remote learning plans will be sent out (similar to what your children are experiencing now) and children will also have a daily opportunity to do a Google Hangout with classmates to form acquaintances, ask questions, and interact with their teacher. Kids will learn simple engineering and build towers from various materials. In addition to our science experiments, we will make science-based artwork, like salt painting and more. Before each experiment, kids will make predictions and record the outcome. We will have science talks about why reactions occur, and things kids are wondering about. Students will also have the opportunity to watch educational videos about science, as well as some fun Magic School Bus episodes! Science in the early childhood classroom goes so well with play, art, and discovery. Let’s combine them all for a week and have fun!

Meghan Teed is a Kindergarten teacher at the Harrington School.
