About LCE<\/h1>\n

LCE is a self-sustaining, integral part of the Lexington Public Schools, committed to bringing lifelong learning to all. We provide practical, creative, and fun educational opportunities at reasonable cost. We seek to provide the best teachers and the most engaging subjects. Our programs are open to all adults and young adults, regardless of residency. We also offer an extensive summer children\u2019s program called LEXPLORATIONS, which offers creative and academic classes.<\/p>\n

You do not need to be a resident of Lexington to enroll in our classes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Courses<\/h2>\n

LCE offers a wide variety of programs for people of all ages. We have adult education programs<\/a> in the Fall, Winter and Spring. The Fall semester begins at the end of September and runs through December. Winter classes begin at the end of January, and run through March. Spring programs begin mid or late April and run through June. There are no adult classes offered during July and August. The LEXPLORATIONS<\/span> program runs for five weeks in July.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Summer LEXPLORATIONS<\/span>:<\/h2>\n

In the summer, we have a unique children\u2019s program called LEXPLORATIONS<\/span>. This program is five separate weeks of exciting classes for children in grades K through 12 in the daytime from 9 AM till 3 PM. Early drop-off and extended day options are also available. Taught by Lexington public school teachers, these classes offer academic and cultural enrichment on such topics as drama, science, math, the arts, sports, and much more. Class sizes are very small and the emphasis is on the joy of learning. Each one week program costs approximately $300. The summer catalog is mailed to all Lexington residents and past students around mid-February. There is NO RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT for this program.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
