Description

This course will utilize the FDIC Money Smart curriculum to explain the building blocks of financial literacy. We will have serious fun with a variety of roleplay scenarios, board games, mazes, and obstacle courses to provide alternative ways of learning and help reinforce traditional classroom experiences. This curriculum has been modified to be more culturally inclusive of the Lexington community and center youth experiences with money. Students will participate in a variety of games including roleplay scenarios, board games, mazes, and obstacle courses to provide alternative ways of learning and help reinforce traditional classroom experiences. Financial Literacy for Youth will provide students with introductory knowledge about money, financial institutions, budgeting, and financial values. The aim is for students to leave this course with practical knowledge that will help them to make safe and healthy financial choices for their entire lives. Screens will only be utilized as an educational tool.
