Description

What makes Taylor Swift the number one global artist of today? Travel through each era, explore 10 albums in 5 days, and discover the blueprint of a master of music, business, fashion, marketing and reinvention at work. Analyzing the societal context of her music will allow us to discuss ideas of fiction vs. nonfiction, perspective, poetic and rhetorical devices, and literary tropes. We will spend time discussing her cultural and economic impact– from fashion, to music genre/s, to lyricism. “Swiftonomics”, the term coined for the effect that Taylor has had on local economies, will give us insight into the business strategy including the album re-records and vault tracks that have rocketed to the top of the charts. Beyond being a talented entertainer and cultural phenomenon, Taylor Swift offers enduring and empowering life lessons for all. “Are you ready for it?”
