Greg grew up in rural Vermont, and after attending Oberlin Conservatory and the New England Conservatory, became an active free-lance musician and teacher in the Boston area. In 1998, he toured with the New England Symphonic Ensemble to South Africa, Zimbabwe, and England. With them he has played numerous performances under the baton of John Rutter and in Carnegie Hall. Most recently, Greg traveled to Karuizawa, Japan for a second year to coach a four day trumpet workshop for the Shobi School in Tokyo. Besides performing in orchestras and chamber groups throughout New England, Greg has been a very active educator, maintaining a studio of nearly fifty students for the past two years. In addition, he served as Brass Department Chair for the South Shore Conservatory where he taught from 1997-2006 and directed an elementary/middle school band at St. Francis Xavier in Weymouth, MA. He has also been a private instructor at the Lexington High School and The Waldorf School in Lexington, MA. When not playing or teaching, Greg enjoys being outdoors, often hiking or cycling, or indoors reading, or creating stained and fused glass works.
