Lucas Rich

Bass Guitar

Lucas Rich is currently Instructional Assistant right here in Lexington at Clarke Middle School. He studied mathematics at Northeastern University, with a minor in music. Bouncing between a few instruments when he was younger, he finally found the chair that fits best as a bassist in his high school’s jazz ensemble and combo. From there, the always-needed bass led him through a wide range of different genres, ensembles, styles, and groups. From background jazz music and pit orchestras, through DIY venues and recordings, to original music showcases and studio session work for recording artists, Lucas has a wide variety of experience to draw on. For lessons and learning, Lucas likes to focus on an individual approach to music. What is each musician’s relationship with their instrument like and what are they hoping to get or achieve with their music. Whether music is a therapeutic release or an outlet for your creative expression, whether you need help with writing or arranging, wanting to grow your knowledge and facility with your bass and music theory, or you’re practicing for an important audition or performance, all are welcome. Lucas’ focus is to help each musician figure out what works for them. His musical goal both for himself and his students is to find enjoyment in the process of practicing and working at music, leading to continuous growth and personal success.
