A Shining Star Upon the Highest Bough: Season’s Greetings from LCE on a Solstice Evening

On this winter solstice, and during this holiday season so filled with both grief and gratitude, I asked jazz guitarist extraordinaire and occasional guest of Lexington Community Education, Jon Wheatley to help us send a musical message to you. The beauty of Jon’s playing rings bright with the magic of the season and flows directly from the ear to the heart in a way words seldom do. We thank Jon for sharing his musical gifts with us once again this season.

Here’s wishing each of you warmth in the cold, light in the darkness, wonder and possibility in this world full of limitations, and the felt sense that love is the greatest of all gifts. As the lyric goes:

Through the years we all will be
together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the
highest bough
And have your yourself a merry little
Christmas now

Thank you for your participation and support of Lexington Community Education this year.

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom (and eventually in-person) in the year to come!

Craig, Andrea, Amy, Deniele (The Staff of Lexington Community Education)
