Tubist Frank John brings experiences from all aspects of his life into his work as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. Avid in musical collaboration, he has taken the stage with orchestras across the world including performances as a substitute musician with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Zürich (Zürich Opera House), the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, as well as being a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra in 2022 and a fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center in 2023. He was formerly an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for its 2018-2019 season and made his concerto debut in 2017 with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

A native of San Antonio, TX, Frank is an advocate of musical education and has actively taught as a lecturer and music teacher across his hometown. From 2017-2018, Frank taught music through the Crescendo program, an organization designated to provide music education to children from schools and youth development programs in the Boston area.

Frank John is currently pursuing his doctorate in music from Boston University and obtained his Master of Arts and Soloist Diploma from the Zürich University of the Arts. In 2018, he graduated with his Bachelor of Music degree in tuba performance from the New England Conservatory of Music.
