Israel J. Gutierrez is a passionate arts professional and accomplished musician with a wealth of experience in arts management, community engagement, and large-scale event production. Currently serving as Operations Manager for the Sphinx Organization, Israel plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Sphinx Competition and coordinating logistics for events that attract over 1,500 attendees, including major partnerships with organizations such as Detroit PBS and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Israel’s dedication to community engagement and equitable access to the arts is reflected in his role as Manager of Community Engagement for the Celebrity Series of Boston, where he spearheaded the “Arts for All!” programs. His work also emphasizes inclusion and the development of soft skills for the next generation of artists.

His work at festivals like the Aspen Music Festival and Spoleto Festival USA further solidifies his background in both performance and behind-the-scenes production.

With degrees in Music Performance from Oberlin Conservatory and Boston University, Israel is fluent in both English and Spanish, bringing a unique international perspective to his work.
