Instrument Lessons with Lexington Community Education

Lexington Community Education provides an optional program of convenient and reasonably priced individual music lessons with highly qualified professional musician-teachers. Lessons are held at Lexington High School after 3pm, Monday through Friday. and may be scheduled into the evening. Students may choose the length of weekly lessons that best suits their budget, time commitments and musical needs. We welcome beginners as well as advanced students, of all ages, from every town.

The following instruments are available for individual study: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone Horn (Euphonium), Tuba, Percussion (Drums), Guitar (Electric and Acoustic.) All students who have had at least one year of school instrumental music instruction may participate.

There is an annual registration fee of $30 for the first child, and $20 for each additional family member. This fee is paid in September for the ten month school year.

Tuition rates for 2007-2008

  • 30 minute lesson times 16 times per semester…$392.00
  • 45 minute lesson times 16 times per semester…$588.00
  • 60 minute lesson times 16 times per semester…$784.00

Parents may register students using the registration form (PDF) found on the LCE website. Once registrations are received for new students, LCE will inform teachers of studentŐs names and phone numbers. Teachers will then directly contact parents in order to arrange a lesson schedule. (Returning students should contact their teacher directly and make a date for lessons, and then mail LCE the completed registration form. ) The Lexington Community Education office will then confirm with the student and teacher the lesson schedule that has been agreed upon.

Lexington Community Education will hold your check or credit card until the music instrument teacher confirms that a day and time of instruction has been agreed upon between teacher and student. Once this is confirmed, the check will be deposited OR the credit card charged.
