  • Lexington Community Education offers a Summer Intensive College Essay Writing Workshop
    Calling all rising seniors! Donít wait until fall college application deadlines approach and wonder what to create for your personal statement/essay! Be prepared by spending only one week (half days) this summer learning the do's and dontís of the essay. You will receive help on all aspects of the essay from coming up with a topic to actually completing the essay in the span of five days. Taught by College Application Essay Coach, Mindy Pollack-Fusi. By the close of day five, you will have a completed essay that is concise yet creative and lively. This class will help you relax this fall when your essay is done! Class size limited to 8. Class meets from 10am - 1pm on August 8 -12 at the Lexington Community Education office Conference Room at 146 Maple Street. Cost $500 Pre-registration is required.     High School Students, entering Sophomore, Junior or Senior year in September, may earn COMMUNITY SERVICE CREDIT this summer as aides in the summer Lexplorations program.

  • When the Lexington Public Schools are closed, our classes (both on and offsite) are cancelled. For weekday afternoon and evening classes, if the schools close early or suspend their afternoon programs, our classes are cancelled as well.

    LCE is looking for qualified, personable, experienced teachers with interesting new topics for upcoming adult semesters. If interested, please call us (781 862 8043) and we will mail you a course proposal.

    Who we are...
    LCE is a self-sustaining, integral part of the Lexington Public Schools, committed to bringing lifelong learning to all. We provide practical, creative, and fun educational opportunities at reasonable cost. You do not need to be a resident of Lexington to enroll in our classes.

    LCE offers a wide variety of programs for people of all ages. We have adult education programs in the Fall, Winter and Spring. The Fall semester begins at the end of September and runs through December. Winter classes begin at the end of January, and run through March. Spring programs begin after the April school vacation and run through June. There are no adult classes offered during July and August.

    The office of Lexington Community Education is located in the main Lexington Public Schools Central Office at 146 Maple Street, Lexington. This office is open Monday - Friday from 9am to 4pm, from August through June. Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 9pm during the school year, LCE staff can be found at Lexington High School, in Room 142.

    During the summer children's program in July, the LCE office is open from 8:30 am till 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and operates out of the Harrington Elementary School.
