Henry tells his men, "…when the blast of war blows in our ears, / Then imitate the action of the tiger; / Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, / Disguise fair nature with hard-favour’d rage”. Is it right to inspire these men, who will likely fight only to die? What are the responsibilities of leadership? We will read and discuss the play while considering these and other questions. No experience necessary. No homework the first session, and then one act a week until done. We will be using a print version of the Folger edition (ISBN 9781982109417), which is also available free online, but any good edition of the play should be fine.
