Babysitter’s Training with American Heart Association Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid - January (KBTR)

Participants will learn the skills necessary to provide care for children and infants. In addition, students will learn the critical skills needed to respond to adult and pediatric first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergencies. The course combines video, activities, and hands-on skills training for a complete learning experience. Students who successfully complete this course will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid certification valid for two yearsand a Babysitter’s Training certification with no expirationdate This class is designed for students 11 to 15 years old.

Participants will learn how to:
• Prevent, recognize and respond to safety issues
• Problem solve and make decisions under pressure
• Choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games
• Feed, diaper and care for infants and children
• Manage discipline issues
• Launch a babysitting business
• Write a resume
• Recognize and respond to adult and pediatric breathing, cardiac, and first aid emergencies, including the use of the Automated External Defibrillator

• Folder with course reference materials and Emergency Reference Cards
