Description

An Introduction to 3D Design & Printing for Kids — Beginning Level is a hands-on enrichment class for students who want to explore creativity, technology, and engineering through 3D design and 3D printing. This course is ideal for beginners and introduces students to the full creative process: imagining an idea, building a digital model, preparing it for printing, and seeing the final object come to life.

Students will use beginner-friendly 3D design tools such as Tinkercad to create customized projects such as name tags, toys, small decorations, simple vehicles, phone stands, cookie cutters, and other fun objects. Through these projects, students will develop spatial thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and confidence using technology.

The class is designed to be fun, supportive, and project-based. Students will learn that 3D printing involves experimentation and improvement, and they will be encouraged to test ideas, make changes, and learn from the design process. All laptops, 3D printers, filament, and class materials are provided.

Prerequisite: No prior 3D design or 3D printing experience required.
