3D Design & Printing — Enrichment / Continuing Level (Weekend)

Students will continue using kid-friendly 3D design tools such as Tinkercad while learning how to create more complex and customized models. Projects may include functional objects, personalized designs, simple mechanical or geometric forms, decorative items, small prototypes, and early portfolio-style design projects. Students will be encouraged to develop their own ideas, improve their designs through feedback, and think more deeply about structure, size, function, and printability.

This continuing-level class emphasizes creativity, design thinking, problem solving, and iteration. Students will learn how to refine their models, troubleshoot design issues, and better understand how digital designs become physical 3D-printed objects. The class is ideal for students who enjoyed the beginner class and are ready for more independent and advanced project work.

All laptops, 3D printers, filament, and class materials are provided.

Prerequisite: Prior participation in a beginner 3D design/printing class or equivalent basic experience with 3D modeling.
