5 Stories in 5 Weeks
$165.00 – $180.00Price range: $165.00 through $180.00
Description
In this fun and fast-paced writing class, you will develop new short stories (between 300-1,500 words) in a supportive and experimental workshop environment. By the end of the course, you will have 5 short story drafts, a well of new ideas and inspiration, a consistent writing habit, and an understanding of essential craft elements such as plot, structure, theme, setting, character, and language. Most importantly, you will leave with a sense of how to get from the initial spark of inspiration to a fully formed publishable short story. This class invites you to experiment with new work and take bold strokes about what you write and where you find inspiration. We will draw on published short stories of all lengths by writers like Kelly Link, Lauren Groff, and Stuart Dybek as well as from one another. In each class we will explore essential craft elements, discuss published short stories, give and receive feedback on our writing, and work towards publishing our own stories. This class is for writers of all levels Ages 18+.
