Description

After-School 3D Design & Printing — Beginning Level is designed for elementary students who are curious about creativity, engineering, and technology. In this hands-on class at Fiske Elementary School, students will learn the basics of 3D design, digital modeling, and 3D printing while creating their own customized projects.

Using beginner-friendly design tools such as Tinkercad, students will explore how to turn ideas into printable 3D models. Projects may include personalized name tags, small toys, simple functional objects, creative decorations, and other age-appropriate designs. Along the way, students will build spatial reasoning, problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and confidence through real-world STEM learning.

This class emphasizes creativity, patience, and iteration. Students will learn that design is a process: testing, improving, and solving problems are all important parts of creating successful 3D-printed work. All laptops, 3D printers, filament, and class materials are provided.

Prerequisite: No prior 3D design or 3D printing experience required.
