Description
How can we find clarity and inner peace amid the constant demands of modern life? What does it mean to truly practice Chan—not merely as a philosophy, but as a way of living?
Join Venerable Master Shouyu, founder and abbot of the Ten Directions Buddhist Community and a Chan teacher with decades of retreat leadership and teaching experience, for an evening of reflection on the living practice of Chan meditation. Drawing upon his own journey of cultivation and years of guiding practitioners, Master Shouyu will share how the timeless wisdom of Chan can help us return to the present moment, quiet the mind, and awaken our innate clarity and compassion.
Through personal stories, practical insights, and the spirit of direct experience at the heart of Chan, this forum invites participants to explore meditation not as an escape from life, but as a path to engaging life with greater awareness, resilience, and wisdom.
Whether you are new to meditation or have an established contemplative practice, all are welcome to encounter Chan as a living tradition—one that speaks deeply to the challenges and possibilities of our modern world
