Begin the new year with a practice that will give you a glimpse into a simple and gentle flow. Move the spine, maintain balance, and simply relax. Classes are designed to help you build strength, increase flexibility, and reduce stress. All at your own pace. The practice will follow gentle movement coupled with mindfulness and self-awareness. The flow will wake us up to get ready for the day. The postures are prone to variations and are modified to suit the needs of the participants. The flow helps us keep moving at a pace that is both beneficial and challenging without creating tension. Gentle flow is at a slower pace, and includes breath along with mindful movement. The benefit of this class will be to learn how to stay flexible. The class will include a few minutes of centering, flow practice, breathwork, and relaxation. The practice will include seated, standing, and reclined poses. Relaxation will be guided.

Asha Ramesh is a certified Hatha yoga teacher from The Yoga Studio in Boston. She is a registered 200 hour yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT-200). She has chair yoga certification with Stacey Lubets. She has been practicing yoga for over thirty years and teaching for the past sixteen years. She applies various styles to her Hatha yoga teaching keeping it relevant to the needs of her students.

In fact, I question whether this class would be as effective in an in-person classroom because each of us can see her modeling the poses by looking at a screen in our own living rooms.
