Description

LGBTQ+ people have always been part of history, and that includes film history. In this class, we’ll discuss how queer themes arise in movies from throughout film history, starting over 110 years ago with Charlie Chaplin. We’ll watch some of the greatest hits of the century, learn behind-the-scenes details, and most importantly,  learn how representation on-screen affects our lives in the real world. Be ready for pride month in June by catching up on more than a hundred years of culture.

Nate Clark grew up a Unitarian Universalist just a half hour from Follen in Dunstable Massachusetts. Nate did their MDiv degree at the Iliff School of Theology and has worked as a contract minister and hospital chaplain in Denver, Colorado. They hope to pursue their calling as a parish minister when their training is complete. Nate is also the Youth Programming Coordinator at Follen, working with their FUUY teens to create a year of fun and meaningful programming.
